What I built and why
I am Brian Farello, founder of BCF ECOM LLC and the builder behind RetentionCheck. RetentionCheck turns raw SaaS cancellation feedback into a Churn Health Score, the top five to eight drivers behind your churn, and a prioritized action for what to fix first. It runs on Claude (Anthropic) and is free to try with no signup required at /try.
I started building it after spending years watching founders collect exit-survey responses and then do nothing with them. The data was there. The analysis layer was not. So I built the analysis layer.
How the analysis works
Every insight RetentionCheck produces is backed by verbatim customer quotes, a severity score, and a confidence interval. The methodology behind the Churn Health Score is published openly on the methodology page, including the per-severity point deductions and grade bands.
I have analyzed public cancellation signal from 25+ SaaS companies on the Churn Hall of Fame and published 11 long-form teardowns covering Notion, Linear, Figma, Asana, Cursor, Evernote, HubSpot, Monday.com, Slack, Zoom, and the Asana vs Notion head-to-head. Every teardown cites real review quotes from Trustpilot, Hacker News, Reddit, and G2.
Why I publish churn data in the open
Most churn content on the web is surface-level marketing from vendors who benefit from you not knowing the actual numbers. I publish 100+ industry churn benchmarks with monthly and annual rates, median ARPU, and the top drivers for each category, sourced from public filings, industry reports, and teardown analysis. No paywall, no gated PDF, no form-fill.
Stage
RetentionCheck is solo-built, pre-revenue, and operated from Florida, USA. Every user-facing feature, every teardown, every benchmark page, and every line of marketing copy is written by me. If you have feedback, a churn question, or a teardown request, the fastest way to reach me is X or email.
Want to see it run? Paste real cancellation feedback at retentioncheck.com/try. No signup, results in 30 seconds.
